In the last few months, I started running. I am currently training to run 5k (3 miles). I decided to use a running app, designed for the challenge. The app, I used was 5k Runner. It was a couch to 5k challenge. It, also, might that I would be in the fresh air, exercising.
This running app has a free trial, which allows you to try the app before you purchase the app. The free trial includes the first four days and it allows the user to see their history with the app. Also, the app rewards the users for using the app with badges like determination badge etc. Also, the app tells the user the distance they ran in the session.
It tells the user what the session will consist of. Each session has a 5 minute warm up and cool down. Then the main section of the session depends on the day that you are training on. For example, week 1 day 3, the session consists of a 5 minute warm up walk, 20 minutes of running and walking (1 minute running and 1.5 minutes of walking, eight times) followed by a 5 minute cool down walk.
I enjoyed using this app whilst training to run 5k. I like the positive message, it would give the user such as “you are doing well”. I feel these helped me but may not help everyone. If you are new to running like me, it may help with your confidence. However, once you have completed the free four day trail, the user will be given two options. Option 1 is to have the full app for three months at the cost of £2.69 or there is Option 2, which is unlimited for £4.49.
